Newtons' workshop offers a comprehensive list of services for both guitarists and orchestral string players. We are also able to offer woodwind, brass and amplifier repairs via third parties. We have three on-site repairers; Emma Newton, Luke Page and Dante Zufolo. The workshop is open from Tuesday to Friday.
Emma Newton

Emma has worked in repair for over 25 years. Her knowledge has been learnt and absorbed through her being in and around the workshop since childhood. Watching her father work and undertaking small tasks from a very young age, she grew up with tools and wood becoming a natural part of her environment. As well as undertaking repairs Emma makes electric guitars and violins, a selection of which can be seen for sale on the website.

Dante Zufolo

Dante graduated with Distinction in guitar building from both Manchester College of Art and Technology (MANCAT) and Merton College in London. He has restored and repaired stringed instruments for over fifteen years in South East London, including many years for Malcolm Tysoe Music as well as other local music shops. Dante undertakes all facets of violin repair and restoration, all members of the orchestral string family as well as mandolins and guitar. He also builds guitars and mandolins for select, discerning clients on a commission basis.

"Thanks very much for the work you did on my Columbus, it's playing really well now compared to how it was." Andy

"A quick word to express my thanks to Rachel for her fantastic work on my Gibson SG. The guitar had suffered a broken headstock in it's past and the repair, although sound, was clearly visible. More recently I managed to damage the front of the headstock too, taking a noticeable chip out of it by accidentally introducing it to my garage door. Rachel had done a brilliant job on another of my guitars, so the SG was put in for her attentions. And once again what a great repair this is! A perfectly smooth and colour matched finish, making the headstock break and chip now invisible. So many thanks Rachel, you have a great talent. I'll be in touch when I manage to bash up yet another guitar!" Steve
